Is this the real chupacabra?

by Scott Redacted

We received an email and attached photo from “JA” from Davie, FL whose uncle worked at a Naval Security Group Activity site at Sabana Seca in northern Puerto Rico. The base was shuttered in 2003. According to “JA” the image is a photo of:

…a drawing that my uncle has. He said it is a preserved specimen of an animal they had at the base in the 1980s. He wouldn’t tell the family any more than that.

During our email interchange, JA couldn’t provide other details — including the size or nature of the animal, although he promised to keep us updated if his uncle changed his mind about revealing more information.

Could this bat-faced creature be the chupacabra? The sketch seems to indicate a spiny back and fangs — which fit into some eyewitness reports.
